Obituary of Donald G. "Don" Freeman
Of St. Thomas, ON, formerly of London and Dorchester, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, in his 82nd year. Partner of Donna (née Reed) Taylor. Father of Elaine Chantler (John), James “Jim” Freeman (late Laurie), David Freeman (Jennifer), and Michael Freeman (Anna). Brother of Robert W. “Butch” Freeman (Donna), and the late Janet Whalls (W. Joseph). Don is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Born in St. Thomas, August 24, 1942, he was a son of the late Donald and Laura (née Hooper) Freeman. Don was a retired employee of Wolverine Tube Canada. He formerly enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid Blue Jays and Leafs fan.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). Interment in St. Peter’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Tyrconnell. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the service from 10:00-10:50 a.m. Memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada will be gratefully acknowledged.
