Obituary of Murray E. Jackson

Of St. Thomas, ON, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, in his 86th year. Beloved husband for over 55 years to the late Margaret A. “Marg” (née Norton) Jackson (2015). Dearly loved father of Michael Jackson (Laurie), and Michele “Shelley” Jackson-Nicolai (Dave Nicolai). He was proud of his grandchildren, Steven Jackson (Jodie Verberne), Kaitlyn Jackson, Serena Nicolai, and Breanna Nicolai, and his great granddaughter, Serenity. Dear brother of Charlotte Clarke (George). Murray is also remembered by his nieces, nephews, and their families.

Born in St. Thomas, August 3, 1938, he was the son of the late Cyril and Ruby (née Smith) Jackson. Murray served with the St. Thomas Police Service from 1961-1991, retiring as a Sergeant.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and private interment will be made in Elmdale Memorial Park. A service to celebrate Murray’s life will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-10:50 a.m. Memorial donations to the Hospice of Elgin or the CNIB will be gratefully acknowledged.
