Obituary of Albert L. "Ab" Mycroft

Of Port Stanley, passed away at LHSC, University Hospital on Sunday, February 27, 2022, in his 75th year.  Beloved husband of Karen (née Kopec) Schroeder.  Dear brother of Judith Pritchard (Bob), Brian Mycroft (Lise), Robert Mycroft (Gudrun), Jay Richard Mycroft (Ellie), and Colleen Mycroft (Tony).  Loved uncle of Andrew, Jeremy, Ben, Lauren, Erin, Kelley, Matthew, Haley, and Lindsay.  He will also be sadly missed by his step-son, Logan Schroeder, and brother-in-law David Kopec (Christine). Ab was born in London, ON, March 18, 1947. He was a son of the late Albert “Ab” Mycroft and the late Juanita “Wanda” (née Thomas) Mycroft, and step-son of the late Eileen (née Caughell) Mycroft.  Ab was a retired A&P/Metro assistant manager, having worked at various locations in the St. Thomas and London area. He was a long-time member of the Port Stanley Sailing Squadron. We will miss his great sense of humour, easy laughter, and remember his loyal character.

A private memorial service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160), followed by interment in Elmdale Memorial Park, St. Thomas.  A properly worn mask is required, physical distancing will be followed, and attendance numbers will be limited.  A public celebration of life will be held at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations to the London Health Sciences Foundation (re: University Hospital in support of cardiac equipment) will be appreciated.
