CAMPBELL, Isabel, of Shedden, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, December 21, 2017, in her 81st year. Dear sister of James “Jim” Campbell (Gillian) of London. Loved aunt of Adrian Campbell of Shedden, Mary Anne Campbell of Toronto, Andrew Campbell (Melissa), and Jocelyn Campbell, all of Summerland, BC, and great aunt of Ainsley and Addison Campbell of Summerland, BC, and Adrian Campbell of London. Also fondly remembered by a number of cousins and friends. Born in St. Thomas, ON, July 21, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Neil L. and Mary (née Galbraith) Campbell. Isabel was a graduate of the London Normal School and the University of Western Ontario. An elementary school teacher, she taught her entire career in St. Thomas with the Elgin County Board of Education. Isabel started her career in 1958, and taught Home Economics at Elgin Court Public School from 1967 until her retirement in 1994. She was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas, where she was a member and former secretary of the Knox Presbyterian Women, and a former member and secretary of the Board of Managers. Isabel was also a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women- St. Thomas. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Wednesday, December 27th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Isabel’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 55 Hincks St., St. Thomas on Thursday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in Rodney Hall. Interment in Fingal Cemetery at a later date. Flowers respectfully declined. If so desired, memorial donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation or the Knox Presbyterian Church Rodney Outreach Fund will be gratefully acknowledged.
