Condolences to Sue and friends and family of Alene. When I was 9 years old and in grade 4 at Southwold PS, I began leaving notes addressed "To the Janitor" on my desk at the end of the school day. And Alene began writing back to me. I remember how excited I was coming into the classroom each morning to see if "the janitor" had left me a note. Alene and I wrote to each other for close to 40 years-mostly at Christmas time in recent years. I will miss her notes. Rest in Peace Alene. (Sarah Butterworth)
