GREEN BLACKWELL, Margaret M. (née Durst)- Formerly of London and St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at her residence, River Ridge Seniors Village, Medicine Hat, AB, on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, in her 88th year.  Wife of the late T. E. Rae Green (1988) and the late William D. Blackwell (2001).  Dearly loved mother of Anna Rae Green (Edward Ough), and cherished grandmother of Thomas Ough and Gwen Ough, all of Medicine Hat.  Margaret is also fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and their families.  In addition to her spouses, she was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Costen (late Ronald) and her step-son, Joseph Blackwell.  Margaret was born on June 1, 1931 in St. Thomas, ON.  She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Marie (née Webber) Durst.  Margaret was a retired secondary school teacher who spent her life in St. Thomas, Thunder Bay, Blind River, and London, ON and Medicine Hat, AB.  She was a member of St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Medicine Hat, and a former member of New St. James Presbyterian Church, London and Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas.  Margaret was a former member of the St. Thomas Duplicate Bridge Club and the London Bridge Club.  Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the Lyle Chapel of Knox Presbyterian Church, 55 Hincks St., St. Thomas on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:30 a.m., followed by a reception.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the service.  Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.  Arrangements entrusted to the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
