GERMAN, Louis F. “Lou” of St. Thomas, passed away at his residence on Thursday, September 14, 2017, in his 90th year.  Beloved husband of the late Aileen (née Bradt) German (2014).  Dearly loved father of Debbie Bukacheski of Ottawa, and Mark German of St. Thomas.  Cherished grandfather of Nathan Jackson-German of Kitchener.  Dear brother of George German (Eleanor) of Shad Bay, NS, late William “Bill” German, and the late Gordon German.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born in Halifax, NS,  December 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Henry Louis “Harry” and Maria Sophia “Minnie” (née Sampson) German.  Lou served with the Royal Canadian Dragoons for 3 years and the R.C.A.F. for 23 years, retiring as a Sergeant.  Following his retirement from the R.C.A.F., he was employed by Murphy Bus Lines, Arva.  He was a member of Holy Angels’ Roman Catholic Church, St. Thomas.  There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Angels’ Roman Catholic Church, 502 Talbot St., St. Thomas on Tuesday, September 19th at 10:00 a.m.  Interment in Holy Angels’ Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Holy Angels’ Church Restoration Fund will be gratefully acknowledged.  Arrangements entrusted to the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
