Obituary of Mildred G. Heisler (nee Cooke)
HEISLER, Mildred (née Cooke), of Fingal, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Monday, October 2, 2017, in her 86th year. Wife of the late Bernard J. “Pat” Heisler (May 16, 2017). Mother of Byron Heisler of London, and Myrna Rose (Ron Tuba) of Texada Island, BC. Grandmother of Jessica Heisler (Brad), Lindsey Heisler (Scott), and Curtis Heisler (Talon). Great grandmother of Scarlett and Ava. She was the sister of the late Margery Kenney, and the late Dorothy Trebbien. Dear friend of Sue and Leighton Ellis, and Donna Virag. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan, June 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Hattie (née Davidson) Cooke. Mildred formerly worked in the cafeteria at K-Mart, Elgin Mall, St. Thomas. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, or the STEGH Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged. Gratitude is expressed to all the nurses and staff at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital for making Mildred’s passing so peaceful.
