Obituary of Jeffrey A. "Jeff" Decow
Of St. Thomas, ON, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, August 12, 2024, in his 67th year. Dear brother of Michelle Cummings (Ralph), and loved uncle of Corey Cummings (his best bud), and Kayla Cummings (Adam McGaw). Jeff is also fondly remembered by Linda Newcombe-Michie and Gordie Michie, and his many friends. He will be missed by his dear fur baby, Sammie.
Jeff was born in St. Thomas on January 2, 1958. He was the son of the late Robert J. Decow (1993) and the late Kathaleen “Kay” (née Cox) Baxter (2015).
Jeff was an avid hobbyist. He had a love for classic rock, classic cars, motorcycles, watching auto racing, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He played pool every weekend, enjoyed working on model cars, and he never ever missed an episode of Coronation Street. Jeff was a well-known coach, program volunteer, and fan in the St. Thomas Special Olympics community and was a friend to many athletes. He could always be counted on to help out whenever and wherever he was needed.
A private visitation was held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. Flowers respectfully declined. If so desired, please consider a memorial donation to Special Olympics Ontario- St. Thomas.
A celebration of life open house will be held at the Joe Thornton Community Centre, 75 Caso Crossing, St. Thomas on Saturday, October 19, 2024 between the hours of 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.

A potluck dinner will start at 4:30 p.m. Please bring your own non-alcoholic drinks.
