Obituary of William G. "Bill" Day

Of RR3, Shedden, passed away at LHSC, Victoria Hospital on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in his 83rd year.  Beloved husband for 51 years to the late Caroline “Carol” (née Sagala) Day (2021).  Dearly loved father of Lisa Coutu (Rob Laur), and cherished grandfather of Renée and Josée Coutu, and Kristen and Tony Laur.  Dear brother of Robert “Bob” Day (Jo Ann), late Harry “Tim” Day (late Jenny), late Donna McIntyre (late Earl), late Ethel Bradt (late Donald) and the late Iris Else (late John).  Loved brother-in-law of Patricia Morris and the late Sue Eckstein. Bill is also fondly remembered by his in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their families.

Born in St. Thomas, ON, January 1, 1942, he was a son of the late William E. and Ivy (née Ashby) Day.  Bill was a retired metal fabricator having worked at Jaeger Machines and Elgin Metals, St. Thomas.  He was a member of the St. Thomas Stamp Club.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and the interment of his cremated remains will be made privately in Fingal Cemetery at a later date.  If so desired, memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
