Obituary of L. Macsine Boyd (nee Magee)

Of West Lorne, ON, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, January 28, 2024, in her 70th year. Beloved wife for nearly 50 years to David H. Boyd. Dearly loved mother of Mary Zea (Eden), Daniel Boyd (Jody Van Bree), and Derek LaCroix (Terryn Walker). An infant son, David James Michael Boyd passed away in 1974. Cherished grandmother of Cara (Devon), Kenith, Ephraim, Benjamin, Sam, Penny, Jacob, and Harper. Dear sister of James Magee (Nina), Alison Martelli (Casper), Jeannette Theissler (George), and Leah Jaburek (Dave). Macsine is also fondly remembered by her in-laws, nieces and nephews and their families, and her cousins.

Born in London, ON, August 24, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Eleanor (née Almost) Magee. Macsine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Thomas, a former member of the West Lorne Women’s Institute, and taught gymnastics for a number of years.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Macsine’s life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 436 Elm St., St. Thomas on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.  Memorial donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
