Obituary of Shirley McCart (nee Wilkins)

Of Ingersoll, ON, formerly of St. Thomas and London, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll, in her 98^th year. Wife of the late Arthur H.W. McCart (2006). Mother of Maureen Shier (Rick), Susan Robb, all of Ingersoll, late Sharron McCart-Hahn (Wilf of London), and the late Michael McCart (Lou of Québec). Sister of the late David H. Wilkins (Chris of Québec), and the late James R. Wilkins (late Irene). Shirley is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

Born in Windsor, ON, June 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James and Ethel (née Waller) Wilkins. Shirley was a former member of Hillcrest Memorial Branch #119, Royal Canadian Legion, Ingersoll and Lord Elgin Branch #41, Royal Canadian Legion, St. Thomas.

The funeral service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 2:30 p.m., followed by interment in South Park Cemetery. Public visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:20 p.m. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
