Obituary of Finley "Sonny" Williams

Formerly of St. Thomas, passed away at Terrace Lodge, Aylmer on Friday, September 8, 2023, in his 86^th year. Loving husband for 58 years to the late Jean (née Gardner) Williams (2018). Dear father of Debra Remus (Dennis), Kathy Edgar (Robert), late Teresa Peterson (2006), late Richard (Rick) “Buster Will” Williams (2019), and the late James “Jim” Williams (2021). Also survived by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and their families. He was the last surviving of his siblings.

He was born in Twillingate, Newfoundland on June 21, 1938. Sonny was a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company of Canada’s St. Thomas Assembly Plant. He formerly attended St. Andrew’s United Church, St. Thomas. For many years, Sonny trained beagles and competed at trials, winning a number of ribbons and trophies.

The family would like to thank the staff at Terrace Lodge for their amazing care.

Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Following cremation, interment will be made in the St. Thomas Cemetery, West Avenue. Memorial donations to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario or the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
