Obituary of Blake A. Nancarrow
Of St. Thomas, ON, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, September 1, 2023, in his 60th year. Born in Peterborough, ON, September 24, 1963, he was the loved son of Marie (née Hall) Nancarrow, and the late Donald A. Nancarrow. Loved brother of Donna Nancarrow (Steve Proud). Dear nephew of Bill and Peggy Nancarrow, and Fred Nancarrow. Blake is also remembered by his cousins and friends.
Blake was the Chief Operating Officer of ComputerEase, providing information technology support and technical training. He had a life-long interest in science, astronomy, and spaceflight. A Royal Astronomical Society of Canada member, he was a former national Observing Committee chair and software training coordinator. Blake regularly wrote for the RASC Journal and SkyNews magazine. A true teacher, Blake's tireless efforts have enriched the lives of many RASC members and touched and mentored so many others. Blake loved viewing the night sky and it seems appropriate that he would leave us to enter a clear night sky. He shall shine bright among the stars.
In keeping with his wishes, Blake’s body has been bequeathed to medical science. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. If so desired, please consider a donation in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society (re: Prostate Cancer). Arrangements are entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas, ON (519-631-1160).
