Obituary of Carol Anne (nee McCormack) Wood

Of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, in her 82^nd year.  Beloved wife for almost 50 years to the late William G. “Bill” Wood (2021).  Dearly loved mother of Matthew Chute (Kim Morrison) of London, Lisa Waite (Ian) of Pelee Island, and Michael Wood (Rachel) of St. Thomas.  She was proud of her beautiful granddaughters, Amy Dickson (Brad), Maddie Chute, Emme Chute, all of London, Britlee Wood, Lily Richardson, both of St. Thomas, and the late Jaden Wood (2007).  Dear sister and sister-in-law of Tom and Barb McCormack of Burlington, and their children, Jeffrey McCormack (Daisy) of Toronto, and Morgan McCormack (Calvin McLeod) and their sons, Carter and Kai of Burlington. Born in St. Thomas, she was the daughter of the late Harry (1995) and Ann (née Wright) McCormack (1988).  Carol Anne was a former longtime member of the Sweet Adelines, St. Thomas Chapter.

In keeping with Carol Anne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.  A private service for the immediate family will be held at Elmdale Memorial Park. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
