Obituary of William Meek "Bill" Wallis
Of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at his residence, Seasons Retirement Community on Friday, July 21, 2023, in his 96th year. Beloved husband for over 56 years to the late Marie (née Craig) Wallis (2006). Dearly loved father of Judy Ethelston (late Steve), Nancy Ker (Patrick), and Cathy Peterson (late Gordon Hern). Bill was proud of his grandchildren, Tricia Horton (Dale), Craig Ethelston (April), Janet Wilson (Blair), Stacey Arthur (Jordan), and Scott Ker (Mary Ann), and his great grandchildren, Brody, Hunter, and Ryker Ethelston, Elijah Horton, Tori and Logan Wilson, Ashlyn and Rowan Arthur, and Leo and Annie-Rose Ker. He is also fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and their families. His sisters, Betty C. Wallis, Gwendolyn Hepburn, Marion McKenzie, and Jean Brokenshire predeceased him.
Born in Talbotville, ON, May 28, 1928, he was the son of the late Roy and Margaret (née Meek) Wallis. Bill was the retired owner/operator of Wallis Plumbing & Heating. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas. A 32nd degree mason, Bill was a life member of St. David’s Lodge #302, A.F. & A.M., and a former member of the Hi-Ro Shrine Club and Mocha Temple. He was a Past Noble Grand of St. Thomas Lodge #76, I.O.O.F. and a former member of the Golden “K” Kiwanis Club, St. Thomas.

Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Private interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. Memorial donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
