Obituary of Charles N. "Charlie" Collins

Of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Monday, July 17, 2023, in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Margaret “Marg” (née Lawrence) Collins. Dearly loved father of Shawn Collins (Sarah), and Sandra Collins. Cherished grandfather of Andre and Cameron Austin, Athena and Walter. Dear brother of Linda Martin (Larry), and Donna Carswell (Rick). Charlie will be fondly remembered by his in-laws; Marie and Larry Medlyn, and Paul Laurence, and by his aunt, Marion Collins and uncle, Roy Martin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.

Born in St. Thomas, February 8, 1949, he was a son of the late Donald and Dorothy (née Curtis) Collins. Charlie was a former employee of Hayes Dana – Weatherhead Division, St. Thomas and MedTech, London. He enjoyed kayaking, canoeing and spending time with his granddog (Rosebud).

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Charlie’s family will celebrate his life privately.  Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements are entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160)
