Obituary of Derek S. Elliott

Of Union, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the age of 73. Husband for over 47 years to Debera “Deb” (née Schroeder) Elliott.  Father of Amanda “Mandi” Elliott (Josh Grant) and Travis Elliott.  Brother of Robert “Bob” Elliott (Eve). Derek is remembered by his in-laws; Michele “Micky” Schroeder, Joe Schroeder, and Jeff and Alison Schroeder, and by his niece and nephews. He will be missed by his friends in the dance community.  Born in Toronto, ON, March 1, 1950, he was a son of the late Stephen and Marguerita (née Medforth) Elliott.  Derek and Deb were formerly the franchisees of six Pizza Hut restaurants in the Halton area. He was a former member and a Past President of the Rotary Club of Oakville West.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada or the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners will be gratefully acknowledged.
