Obituary of Marie Schroeder (nee Febrey)

Of Port Stanley, age 89, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital with family by her side on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Wife of the late William F. “Bill” Schroeder (1974). Dearly loved mother of Deb Elliott (Derek), Michele “Micky” Schroeder, Joe Schroeder, and Jeff Schroeder (Alison). Cherished grandmother of Amanda "Mandi" Elliott (Josh Grant), Travis Elliott, Ryan Schroeder, and Kyle Schroeder. Her sister, Marley Gunning predeceased her.

Marie was born in London, ON, December 9, 1933, to Alec and Anne (née Forbes) Febrey. She formerly worked as a bartender at the Clifton Hotel and as a chief steward at the Last Post Branch #410, Royal Canadian Legion, Port Stanley.

Cremation has taken place, and the private interment of her cremated remains will be made in Cook’s United Church Cemetery, Strathroy-Caradoc. Friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Marie’s life on Sunday, January 22, 2023, between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Last Post Branch #410, Royal Canadian Legion, Port Stanley.  Flowers respectfully declined.
