Obituary of Margaret Wood (nee Reid)

Of St. Thomas, passed away at the Elgin Manor on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in her 88th year. 

Wife of the late Donald K. Wood (July 22, 2022). Mother of Cathy Wood of Edmonton, Christine Wybo (Bernard) of Courtland, David Wood of Hamilton, and Dianne Wood (Colleen) of St. Thomas. Grandmother of James Wood, Andrew Gibbs, J.D. Gibbs, Ryan Wood, and Dani Bartlett. Great grandmother of Rain, Jaden, Karma, Johnson, Maggie, and Korbyn Gibbs, Leland Wood, and Brody and Devin Bartlett. Predeceased by two brothers and five sisters. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and their families.

Margaret was born in Toronto, ON, September 21, 1935, a daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (née Davis) Reid. 

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and Margaret’s cremated remains will be privately placed in a columbarium at Elmdale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are invited to attend an open house to celebrate Margaret’s life on Saturday, October 29th between the hours of 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the CASO Station, 750 Talbot Street, St. Thomas.  Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
