Obituary of Florence Mary Smith (nee Hinton)

Of St. Thomas, age 86, passed away at her residence on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Beloved wife of the late F. Allan Smith (2007). Dearly loved mother of Michael Smith (Marilyn), James Smith, Peter Smith (Terri), and Andrew Smith (Kathy). She was proud of her grandchildren, Allan Smith (Cassandra), Benjamin Smith (Brianna), and Jordan Smith, and her great granddaughter, Isabella Florence Smith. Dear sister of Christine Brown (Barry), late Thelma Price (late Jack), and late George Hinton, and sister-in-law of Ann and Tony Holford, late Christine and late Alf Benbow, all of England. Mary is also fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and their families.

Born in Whitchurch, England, June 18, 1936, she was a daughter of the late George and Elsie (née Wright) Hinton. Mary and her husband Allan immigrated to Canada in 1957. She was a retired employee of the Campbell Soup Company, St. Marys.  

A funeral service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Friday, July 8^th at 11:00 a.m.  Interment to follow in South Park Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m.  Memorial donations to VON Middlesex-Elgin will be gratefully acknowledged.
