Dear Cathy and Iain, and all of your families' members.
We are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Lloyd was a very special person who will be missed but never forgotten by those who knew and loved him, Rolly and I among them. He was thoughtful and caring of others, especially those he felt needed guidance and support on roads that were difficult. He was someone who wasn't afraid to get involved in caring for the widow and the orphan in society. I think Proverbs 17:6 is a great verse to sum up his life: Children's children are the crown of old men (as I'm sure his pride in all of you grandchildren was) And the glory of children are their fathers (as he surely was to you Cathy and Iain).
With fond remembrances,
Yvonne and Rolly Rollason

Dear Great Uncle Lloyd,
As others have noted here; you were a gentleman and warm and compassionate.
As I think back I marvel... when Carrie and I were just making formative memories, you were so full of energy, you were exuberant. You were like a rolling occurrence of ball lightning. Now I realize, you were already in your late 40's!
It was exciting to see you. I can still hear your voice, and the greeting so full of happiness. You were very different from some of our other austere Scot relatives.
Your were our Granny's (Mina) baby brother she would call you. To hear that would make us children smile and roll our eyes -because when we were 3-5, you were kinda old, but fun!
You were kind to Mina and Ron. I imagine Mina is very happy to see you right now.
You were the reason that I love polished stones to this day. You used to craft animals and designs from them.
Carrie and I borrowed your idea of taking flat river stones and painting them up like lady bugs. It's the first craft i can remember doing.
Uncle Lloyd you were awesome. Well done on a good life.
My condolences to the rest of your clan.
Here's a silly but true quote I think you'd like:
How lucky I am to have had something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
