Dear Joyce, I have just learned of Tom’s death, almost 5 months ago! I’m so sorry. Please know that when I heard from Johnny about Tom’s illness, I began to pray for him, and have been doing that every day since then. I’ll continue doing so, and I pray that you will have the strength to get through these very difficult and lonely days. I remember my big cousin “Tommy “ from the time I was a little girl, and whenever we visited Gram and Granddad, Tommy was always there. It was Tommy who drove Mom, Clyde and my brother Tommy back to Niagara Falls, overnight, to pick up clothes for our Dad’s funeral, after he died suddenly right there in Gram’s house. I remember your wedding day. And I remember you and Tommy arriving at my house on the morning of my wedding. My love to you, Joyce! XO

Dear Joyce and family - my sincere condolences. So sorry for the loss of a running friend and athlete who willingly shared so many miles and hours on the road helping London Pacers Running Club members train for the 42.2 km Marathon. Many fond memories of meeting at Tim Hortons in St Thomas for the run to Port Stanley and back followed with coffee and do-nuts and of course the telling of stories and the offering of many solutions for world problems. A highlight in November 1986 was the opportunity to run with Rick Hansen when Rick was in London on the Man in Motion world tour. In the attached photo, Tom is wearing his favorite black toque and black rim glasses and is right behind Rick Hansen with Lou and I to his left - it was a great running experience as we chatted with Rick all the way from London to Thamesford.
