Obituary of William Blain "Bill" Campbell
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Blain “Bill” Campbell of St. Thomas, Ontario on Sunday, June 20, 2021, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Betty Jean (neé McKillop) Campbell. Loving father of Paul (Marianne), Peter (Diane), Ron (Catherine), and dear Grampa to Tim (Shannon), Amy (James), Jeff (Larissa), Brian (Shauna), Kristen (Stryder), Andy (Cynthia), David (Christa), Christie (Adam), and Jon (Kelsey). Grandpa GG will be lovingly missed by his 10 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Ruth (late Jack), Gord (Sheila), Isobel (late Leo), and Ken (Joan). Also fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings, Marion (late Alec), Betty (Murray), and Helen (late Gord).
Born November 20, 1931 in Aldborough Twp., Ontario, Bill grew up in the Rodney area, son of Ernie and Lily (née Blain) Campbell.
Bill worked at Ontario Hydro for 37 years where he made many lifelong friends.
We will truly miss the euchre games, funny jokes and stories, political points of view and of course his hugs. He will be remembered forever in our hearts. We give thanks for all the joy he brought into our lives.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a family service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). As per the directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO), attendance numbers will be restricted and a properly worn mask or face covering is required. Flowers respectfully declined. Memorial donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
