I am so sorry to hear of the passing of such a wonderful lady. I met Mary when I started H&R and she was a kind and caring person. Always greeted me with a smile and friendly hello. She would stop in the office to see everyone as she walked by. We would talk on the phone in the off season just to keep up on things and for me to hear of her trip her and Pete had that year before this pandemic.
I will miss her deeply and may she RIP. You are an angel now fly free my friend.

My grandma was the best grandma ever. We loved to play scrabble and snakes and ladders. When we went on walks we would have the best talks ever. She would help me with my school work. She loved to talk to everyone. She would make new friends everyday. She would always tell me the golden rule. My grandma will always love my family. I will miss you grandma.
Love Amelia

Dear Pete and family,
We were very shocked and saddened to hear of Mary's accident. We always looked forward to Mary's visits to our Health Food store. She was a wonderful person, customer and friend. We sure loved her spunk. It was never a dull moment when Mary visited. She always made us laugh and definitely turned some heads with her quick wit and sense of humour. We will truly miss her beautiful spirit and bubbly-ness (if that's a word)
Sometimes we were a bathroom stop on one of her long daily treks. She often would set aside an item or two for her pile for the end of the month discount day (Customer Appreciation Day). Honestly, if not for the accident, we swear Mary would have lived to be 120 years old with her active lifestyle and the supplements she took.
Mary often talked of her children and grandchildren. Family was very important to her. Sometimes Pete would accompany her on her visits but often she was on foot and on a mission. She would parch her thirst with her favourite drink...coconut water.
Our sincerest and deepest sympathies to you Pete and your family. She will never be forgotten that's for sure. Thank you for the memories Mary. Big hug and a kiss girl.

Lisa

Dear Pete,Teryl. Marlo and family
I am so sorry for your loss. Mary would always tell me about your latest achievements and her grandchildren when we would meet while grocery shopping. Her face lit up and her pride in her family shone through her whole being. Her smile was a ray of sunshine.
Sorrow is the tender price we pay for living a life of love. Mary was deeply loved by her family and her memories will be cherished always.

Mary was my neighbour but even more she was my dearly loved friend. We shared many tears and much laughter over the years. She was a unique character with the kindest caring soul. I’m sure when she arrived, Jim asked if she had brought him chocolate and her trail mix as she always did. I will so miss that smiling face at my door each day.
My deepest sympathy to Pete and her family.

I had the privilege of working along side Mary at Tim Hortons. I feel like I was part of the reason for her very first little rose tattoo (sorry Mr. Taylor lol. I have flowers on my arm and she always said how you weren't too into tattoos but she didn't care because she thought if done right, they were beautiful).
Anyways, I was working at Tim Hortons with Mary for her 60th birthday. I remember being so excited that she was turning the big 6-0 that I got her a card and some little gifts of sorts..
And of course Mary being Mary, comes in on her next shift with a 'thank you' card for her birthday card lol.. I cried. "Aww!! Mary!! You're silly, you don't need to give me a thank you card for your birthday present!" She said she just really appreciated me thinking of her on her day.
That stuck with me and now I give thank you cards for just about everything. Appreciation goes along way and a small act of kindness can make a really big difference, don't underestimate that.
Thank you for the life lessons, friendship and memories Mary.
Rest easy until we meet again.
My most sincere sympathies to Mary's family and friends.
