Obituary of Robert T. "Bob" Reid

REID, Robert T. “Bob”  - Of St. Thomas, formerly of Lucknow, Strathroy and London, passed away at Chelsey Park Long Term Care, London on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in his 86^th year.  Beloved husband for almost 40 years to the late Carol (née Hunter) Reid (2008).  Dearly loved father of Bob Reid Jr., and Meghan Oakes (Ian).  Loving grandfather of Eric and Andrew Oakes.  Dear brother of Karen Reid.  Also fondly remembered by nephew, Jeff Reid (Tracey).  Born in Goderich, ON, July 1, 1935, he was the son of the late William and Jean (née Nelson) Reid.  Bob was a retired property assessor with the Government of Ontario Finance Ministry.  He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas where he was a former member of the Board of Managers and the Men’s Brotherhood.  Bob was a Past President of both the St. Thomas-Elgin Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation and the Kiwanis Club of Strathroy.  He was a former member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club of St. Thomas.  A private family funeral service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).  A properly worn mask or face covering is required.  Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park.   Flowers respectfully declined.  Memorial donations to Pets/Friends for Life or the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
