Obituary of Marie Hutchings (nee Booker)

HUTCHINGS, Marie (née Booker)- Of St. Thomas, formerly of Shedden, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, January 16, 2021, in her 92^nd year.  Beloved wife for 63 years to the late Vernon E. “Vern” Hutchings (2010).  Dearly loved mother of Rose-Marie and Doug McLaughlin of Shedden, and Ron and Nancy Hutchings of St. Thomas.  Cherished grandmother of Ken and Jody McLaughlin of Talbotville, Janet and Jamie Lambier of Elora, Colleen and Dave Ellis of Lucan, Nicole and Matt Harris of Picton, and Brad and Jill Hutchings of Slave Lake, AB.  She was proud of her great grandchildren, Avery, Indiana, Emerson, Maelle, Meredee, Emma, Landon, and Beau.  Dear sister of Dorothy Brown of St. Thomas, and Sandra Minor (Paul) of Sparta.  Also fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.  Marie was predeceased by a number of brothers and sisters.  Born in Riverhurst, Saskatchewan, July 22, 1929, daughter of the late William “Bill” and Ella (née Lumley) Booker.  Marie was a member of Frome United Church.  In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral service for the immediate family will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).  A properly worn mask or face covering is required.  Memorial donations to the STEGH Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.  The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff on 5^th and 2^nd floor at the STEGH.
