ARISTONE, Evelyn Jean (née Sherry)- Of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at the STEGH on Thursday, July 2, 2020, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife for 63 years to the late George Aristone (2010). Devoted mother of Nancy Johnson (Doug Boyd), Janet Gibson (Steve), Judy Ambrose (Neal), David Aristone (Susan), all of St. Thomas, and Mark Aristone (Heather) of Etobicoke. Cherished grandma of Jody Bélanger (Martin), Julie Chown (Mark), Laura Miedema (Matt), Kelly Schaap (Rob), Michael Ambrose (Tiffany), Martha Josling (Paul), Matt Aristone (Mina), Paul Gibson (Nicole), John Ambrose (Kristin), Sonya Aristone, and Chelsea and Cole Aristone. Loved great-grandma to 17 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Bill Sherry (late Georgina) and sister-in-law of Lena Aristone. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Born in St. Thomas, December 3, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Clara (née Loomis) Sherry. Evelyn lived for her family and her church. Her family were her pride and joy and she poured her heart and soul into enriching all of our lives. She always put her family first and has left us a wonderful legacy. Evelyn was a long-time devoted member of Centre Street Baptist Church, selflessly giving her time to many committees and projects within the church. She preferred to carry out these roles and responsibilities quietly behind the scenes, as was her nature. Evelyn was an avid baker, loyal Blue Jays fan, talented knitter and enjoyed doing puzzles and playing cards. A private family graveside service will be held at Elmdale Memorial Park.
