Jim was a kind and friendly neighbour while we were on the farm. He was always ready with a smile and a handshake at church. There are many happy memories of card parties at our home. Jim and Jean were always included.
Jim enjoyed talking to Scott. I recall them bidding on him for a fund raiser at the church. They wanted some of his technical/handyman expertise around the farm. I do believe that he ended up doing some physical labour due to his strength and then had a wonderful visit and lunch. It's ironic that Jim and Scott both passed on June 13th just one short year apart.
Thinking of all of the Brokenshire clan at this time and sending you peace.

Lois and Jim and all the family: Remembering your dad and mom fondly and how he was fixing the kitchen light the day
we moved in to the manse in Talbotville. Your parents were supportive and caring to us through 15 happy years in that home and church. Glad they are together in heaven!
God Bless, Janess and Roger Landell and family

Lois: My sympathy to you in the loss of your Dad. I recall your family and many others at Talbotville with fond memories. I think I learned so much in those first two years of teaching and had patient parents and students that supported me. As I travel down highway 4 I see all the homes of students and wonder of their lives. I think your Dad was one of the men that tried to convince me to stay another year, he was a fine gentleman and I know you have precious memories of your parents. I am still in our home but lost Laverne almost eight years ago, have two great sons that help keep me here where I am most comfortable. It was such a joy to see you, Joan and your Mothers at our wedding 59 years past It would be lovely to meet and catch up on the years. Thinking of you at this sad time with special memories of your family and others at Talbotville. Blessings. Shirley (MacCallum) Cobban

Phyllis and all our family extend our condolences to Jim’s family. I remember junior farmer’s picnics and trips to Detroit to watch the Tigers with Stu Parker and Lloyd. What a wonderful life. Dad had a close connection with Jim as they grew up inTalbotville and played a little baseball together as well. Richard Auckland
