Doris and family, So sorry to hear of Sterling's death. We attended public school together in Exeter Ontario, and our families remained close for many years. It was good to re-connect with Sterling at the Grade 8 reunion that he organized a few years ago. He had a great sense of humour, which I enjoyed. Thinking of all of you during this time of loss. Marion (Woods) Kirkwood.

Dear Doris and family
Sterling was always a smiling face at our morning coffee group. He always was full of information and great stories. He was a character of sorts; singing, acting and having fun. Sterling loved to make wooden trinkets and give them away.
We will miss him terribly but will always remember him fondly.

I have great memories of the Ince family sharing our home at the north end of Exeter. The housing shortage meant that when they needed housing my parents invited them to share the home where I grew up. Sterling would tell me he came to Exeter when he was 12. I last saw him at the St Thomas museum in the fall when I spoke and did a powerpoint regarding my book about the Farmerettes. He, as always, had clever remarks that made me smile. Good memories. His research and history knowledge was amazing. He will be fondly remembered.
