Obituary of Zora Raic (nee Maric)

RAIC, Zora (née Marič), of St. Thomas, passed away at Chartwell Aylmer on Saturday, March 23, 2019, just shy of her 95^th birthday.  Beloved wife for 62 years to the late Ilija Raic (2009).  Beloved mother of Mary Bottineau (Jerry), Anna Jurica (late Nik), and Monika Dzoic (John), all of St. Thomas, and the late John Raic.  Cherished baka of Monique, Danielle, Stephan, Jacqui, Danny, Ryan and Jenny.  Loving great-baka of Tyler, Olivia and Hudson.  Dear sister of Damjan Marič, of Cleveland, OH, Boja Glavicič (Kutina) of Croatia, the late Bozica Škurla, late Lucija Pintarič, late Boško Marič, late Miško Marič, late Monika Vrbanic, and the late Nikola Marič. Loved sister-in-law of Ljubica Raic and her family, of St. Thomas.  Also survived by a brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law in Hercegovina and by many nieces, nephews and friends throughout the world.  Born in Borac, Nevesinje, Hercegovina/Croatia, March 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joso and Ruza (née Šutalo) Marič.  Zora was a former employee of Essex Wire, St. Thomas.  She was a member of St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, London.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Tuesday, March 26^th from 3:30-5:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. (Prayers at 8:00 p.m.).  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, 2889 Westminster Dr., London on Wednesday, March 27^th at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment in Holy Angels’ Cemetery, St. Thomas.  If so desired, memorial donations to St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church Building Fund or the St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank will be gratefully acknowledged.
